AGRIMONTANA
Azienda Agrimontana, founded in 1972 in Borgo San Dalmazzo (Cuneo) in Piedmont, Italy, is an adventure that began with Cesare Bardini, the founder, and continues "in the family" today, thanks to his brother Enrico Bardini and his children Luigi and Chiara Bardini.
Agrimontana quickly became the leader in the Italian market for chestnuts and candied fruits, as well as jams. This family business, deeply rooted in values of tradition and authenticity, has fully dedicated itself to crafting products using clean processes, relying only on natural ingredients, without any preservatives, colorants, or artificial flavors. It caters not only to pastry chefs, chocolatiers, gelato makers, and restaurateurs but also to end consumers.
Agrimontana stands out for its ability to gently preserve nature’s fruits, employing refined artisanal craftsmanship while integrating modern technologies that optimize the production process. The company places great importance on preserving the organoleptic qualities of the fruits, ensuring that each product reflects the richness of its flavors and aromas from the terroir.
Candied fruit making, a traditional method of preservation with sugar, was its first activity, followed by the preparation of jams and other products for pastry, chocolaterie, and gelato—both traditional and innovative, always under the banner of 100% natural and top-quality ingredients.
In the 2000s, a new chapter emerged: Agricacao, a project within Agrimontana dedicated to cocoa. The choice was not incidental: the Bardini family, passionate about cocoa, noticed a lack of truly traceable, pure, reliable products suited for professionals.
The company therefore adopted a bean-to-bar model, selecting only the finest varieties—Criollo and Trinitario—from exceptional terroirs: Venezuela, Peru, Ecuador, Costa Rica… In 2020, a complete range for pastry, chocolaterie, and gelato emerged: chocolates couverture, cocoa masses, chips, cocoa butter, and powder.
Agricacao is much more than just a product range: it is an ethical project. Agrimontana maintains direct relationships with growers and follows every post-harvest step—fermentation, drying—ensuring not only maximum aromatic quality of the cocoa beans but also a transparent supply chain and fair compensation for the producers.
