A graduate of a business school with extensive managerial experience in major French restaurant groups, Vanessa Shi co-founded Chikin Bang with her husband, Stéphane Dayot, during the lockdown period. Inspired by Korean dramas (series broadcast on Netflix), they came up with the idea of introducing and popularizing Korean fried chicken in France. The first restaurant opened in 2022 in Lyon’s Part-Dieu shopping center. From the moment customers walk in, the concept immerses them in the atmosphere of Seoul’s streets, offering a truly transportive experience.
In less than three years, the brand has established itself as the leader of Korean street food in France and has begun developing its franchise network. Chikin Bang plans to reach 10 locations by the end of 2025, with an opening pace of 5 to 10 restaurants per year.
